About ISR

"Not One More Child Drowns"

ISR's mission statement serves as the foundation of everything we do. Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children under the age of 4 in the U.S. and we have the power to help reduce that statistic. To date, ISR has delivered more than 8,000,000 ISR Self-Rescue lessons and saved more than 800 lives.

Infant Swimming Resource is the safest and most effective provider of survival swimming lessons worldwide, teaching ISR Self-Rescue skills to children ages 6 months to 6 years old. With 50 years of experience and the highest safety standards in the industry, ISR is able to deliver the best survival swimming instruction in the world today.

Through our survival swim lesson program your child can learn critical survival skills and a foundation for lifelong enjoyment of the water.  Lessons are always one-on-one and instruction will be tailored to your child’s skill and comfort level. We do not have “group” lessons, because we believe your child should have our undivided attention. We customize their lessons, especially for them, to ensure the safest, most efficient lessons. We want each child to experience success and use positive reinforcement to recognize each accomplishment, no matter how small.

Lessons are 6 weeks in duration for 5 days a week at 10 minute increments.

The ISR Lesson Quick Sheet contains helpful reminders and guidelines for new or seasoned ISR parents. This sheet contains information on how to be prepared and what to bring to lessons each day, what to expect, and how to show support for your child during and after each lesson. This sheet also includes a list of foods to avoid and eating guidelines.

REGISTRATION FEE

ISR Registration fee for First-Timers – ISR Registration fee is a SEPARATE NON-REFUNDABLE FEE paid directly to Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) via credit card as you register online through ISR. The registration fee covers the cost of a medical/development screening review to ensure the safest possible lesson for your child. There are pediatric nurses on staff who review the registration. If ISR notices anything within the registration they will be in contact with you for additional information. Once everything is good to go they will send you and your Instructor (me) notification via email that your child is approved to begin lessons.

Also note, that within this you will receive a coupon code to purchase $15 of complimentary items like swim diapers, towels, and more from the ISR store. The code will be sent after registration has been paid. This is a great way to get the extra diapers you will need for class.

Key Elements of Lessons

  • Weekly Lessons are 5 days a week for 10 minutes per lesson.

  • Refresher Lessons are 5 days a week for 10 minutes per lesson for approximately 2-3 weeks.

  • Maintenance Lessons are to help your child to maintain, fine-tune and help develop your child's swimming abilities.  The schedule for Maintenance Lessons will be discussed between you and your instructor.

Weekly Lessons

$125/week per child paid on a weekly basis due on or before the first day of the week (TBD)

Once registered and time slots have been chosen, a $100 non-refundable deposit fee is required immediately to hold your time slot and will be applied towards the first week of lessons.
Payable by cash, Venmo, or PayPal. Payment is due weekly. Depending on the age of your child, it typically takes an average of 6 to 7 weeks for them to become skilled. However, ISR lessons are always tailored to each child’s individual emotional and physical pace.

Refresher Lessons

$125/Week

Payable by cash, Venmo, or PayPal. Time slots are limited. Speak to your Instructor if you think your child could benefit from a refresher 2-3 weeks. Refresher lessons are necessary if your child has had an unexpected fall into the water, will not float or perform the rollback to float, or is showing any sort of hesitation or lack of confidence in performing the skills they recently mastered in ISR lessons.

Maintenance Lessons

$35/Lesson

Payable by cash, Venmo or PayPal. Upon completion of lessons, you may see behaviors in the child’s swimming at home that are not consistent with what your child was doing during lessons. This a natural progression for your child. As they become more comfortable and confident in the water, they will begin to experiment and explore the aquatic environment. It is important to know that this does not mean that your child has “forgotten” the skills learned during ISR lessons. However, it may be necessary to schedule a Maintenance Lesson. Maintenance Lessons are designed to fine-tune your child’s skills or prevent problems from developing in your child’s technique. Speak to your instructor about schedule as it will be based on individual needs.

Maintenance Lessons may also be used to keep skills in check as they grow and learn more about the world.
